This resource is made up of 4 activities which can assist in familiarizing a student with counting to 20.
1. Counting Clip Cards: Print and laminate these cards. Your student needs to count the number of eggs on the card and place a clothes peg on the correct answer. You can make them self correcting by placing a sticker behind the correct answer. Students can also use a dry erase marker to circle the correct answer on the card. This can then be wiped off when they are complete.
2. Number puzzles: print and laminate the number puzzles. Cut along the lines to create two piece puzzles. Students need to match the eggs and puzzle pieces together to form the numbers.
3. Number mats: You can print and laminate these to reuse. Dry erase markers can be used to ‘trace’ the number and word or play dough can be used to form the number and create the correct number of little eggs in the base ten frame. You can also opt to not laminate the pages and use them as worksheets. Little eggs can be drawn in the base ten frames and numbers and words can be traced. Odd numbers are depicted with a picture on the left and even numbers with a picture on the right.
4. Individual numbered eggs can be used as a number line or to practise sequencing – arranging numbers from 1 – 20. Odd numbers are black and even numbers are white.
